THE DECEPTION CALLED NPOWER

Youths are not slaves yearning for crumbs from Masters Table.
Npower is in no way an answer to the many demands and wishes of the Nigerian youths. It wouldn’t be a gain saying to tag Npower as a deceptive means of keeping the youths low. Npower blindfolds, it prevents many from reasoning beyond their head. What can the stipend paid to Npower benefactors used for? Considering the economic situation of Nigeria: can any youth build a future out of this two years program? Be it as it may, I am not saying that the government has done any wrong introducing this scheme. But this is not what is essentially needed by the Nigerian youths. Industrialization remains one of the sure answers to the demands of the youths.
We want our government to revamp and revive dead companies; they should build new world class industries. When this is done employment opportunities will be created. And it will make the labour market interesting and competitive. All graduates will be practically engaged and hence committed, productive and result oriented.
When youths are employed by reliable industries they shall be in a better position to save and plan for their future. I therefore insist that the federal and state government should start building industries.
Npower is a means of enslaving the youths. Let’s say no to it and say yes to industrialization.
