MAGIC MIRROR… (STORY 5)

That same night, God who always protects and self guards his children, sent his angel to inform Valentine never to accept any gift from Abigail. The angel did as God had instructed, Valentine received the massage in the dream. When he woken up he was amazed: “Could this be from God. The angel never explained the reason why I should not collect anything from her. My spirit tells me that Abigail is planning something. Thank you God for this message, and then I will break my promise to her and hold on to God instruction. He thought and said his morning prayers.

At school during break period, she approached Valentine where he sat and greeted.
“Good day Val, how are you today,”

“I am fine and you,”

“I am good,” she replied, as she dipped her right hand into her school bag and brought out hot Akara.

“I bought this for you, take two; I will eat the other two, because there is joy in sharing.” She said as she stretched out her hands with the Akara offering it to Valentine while looking him expectantly to collect it. But to her greatest astonishment, he turned the offer down.

“I am sorry, I don’t want to eat,” he said with all boldness.

“But why?” she asked.

“Because I don’t want to eat it,”

“You are very wicked, why then did you promise me yesterday?” she remonstrated.

“Please I am sorry, I don’t to want that,” he said still holding strong his decision.

“Don’t tell me that nonsense, stupid idiot,” she shouted at him and left.

“God I thank you for saving me. Her reaction is clear evidence that she had an evil plan against me. I have to be very careful and prayerful,” he muttered silently.

At night Abigail turned into a big snake and appeared inside Valentine room. When the snake got to where Valentine lay sleeping and made a move to attack him, but at once ten angels appeared and attacked the snake severely. When it was morning Abigail became seriously sick and was rushed to the hospital. She was admitted into the emergency ward. Her suffering lasted for one month, she was lucky, the angels never wanted to kill her. They only thought her a lesson never to draw nearer to any child of God.

When she recovered, she resumed school and was still very angry with Valentine but couldn’t do him anything because the boy’s power was far greater than hers.

 

Chief Owa and his family drove out in their new car to attend a birthday party of his closest friend. When they arrives the big compound, there were flashy cars parked all over. Men of high reputations were invited and that explained why there were many modern cars in the compound.

One of the officials waved down chief Owa and directed him to a location where he can park his car. On reaching the spot, they all alighted from the car. They were gorgeously dressed. Abigail was dressed on purple gown and golden jewelries. She wore high-hill shoe and with it she was cat-walking as they headed into the party-hall.

When they were sighted by the ushers they were giving a seat. The party hall were classically decorated, light bulbs of different colours radiates gloriously.

The party began with an opening prayer led by the oldest man in their midst, after which events began to unfold one after the other.

When it was time for gift presentation, the host was invited to dance. Immediately he came onstage, there were sounds of clapping hands all over. The DJ started the music and he began to dance, his wife and children joined, followed by his friends and became crowded with dancers. They were dropping their gifts at the host feet.

As this was going on, the ushers invited the people for refreshment,, there were varieties of sumptuous meals displayed. The invitees were advised to queue up, as they served themselves. Everybody in attendance ate and drank to satisfaction.

It was getting late into the evening, the MC was conscious of time, as he announced the last event before dismissal. The event was a dancing competition for the girls. The MC pointed out four girls and luckily Abigail was among the four lucky girls. When they came out they introduced themselves before the happy spectators, after which the DJ started the music and the competition began, the spectators were clapping and laughing out loudly. It was one of the most entertaining moments of the party. When they had danced for a while, the MC made a sign to the DJ and the music was stopped. The spectators nominated two out of the four and the other two went back to their seat unhappy.      

Abigail was among the successful two, who were to context for the final winner. The music began as usual and started dancing. Both of them were very good dangers, but one must be better than the other such was the case as Shantel defeated Abigail and became the winner of the dancing competition. Abigail received a gift from the host and went back to her seat very angry and jealous of Shantel.
