IPOB HAILS KENYAN COURT'S LANDMARK JUDGMENT ON NNAMDI KANU'S ABDUCTION

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has welcomed a groundbreaking judgment by the High Court of Kenya, which declared the abduction and extraordinary rendition of its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, as unlawful.

The Kenyan Court ruled that Nnamdi Kanu's abduction and transfer from Kenya to Nigeria in June 2021 was a gross violation of his rights.

The court declared that the actions of the Kenyan government and its Nigerian counterparts were unlawful and unconstitutional.

The judgment underscores the importance of upholding human rights and the rule of law, even in the face of intense political pressure.

The IPOB hailed the judgment as a significant victory for justice, human rights, and the rule of law. The group praised the Kenyan Court for its courage and independence in delivering the landmark judgment. IPOB reiterated its call for the immediate and unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu, citing the judgment as a clear indication of his unlawful detention.

The judgment is expected to have far-reaching implications for the Nigerian government's handling of the Kanu case. IPOB has vowed to continue its advocacy for Kanu's release and the realization of the Biafran people's right to self-determination. The group has also called on the international community to take notice of the judgment and to support its efforts in promoting human rights and justice in Nigeria.
